Manuscripts is an award-winning publishing platform for modern authors. There are four main characteristics of a modern author: modern authors own their work, build direct relationships with their readers/audience, leverage coaching and expertise, and create positive economic outcomes from your work.
Our mission, to elevate stories of the under-heard and to help new authors, creatives, and writing professionals expand their readership to new audiences. Through our process 40% of the titles we publish are considered creative works, including genre fiction.
We have a proven community-driven process that provides you with the team and the system you need to write, publish, and launch your book. You will participate in live instruction, workshops, and community office hours to connect with your fellow authors who are also publishing their books alongside you.
We will empower you at each stage of the book writing and publishing process, as both the creator and owner of your work. When you publish, you will have a book indistinguishable in quality from any traditionally published book—all while retaining 100 percent of the rights and royalties.
Our process is grounded in what we call “creation-based learning.” The goal of our process is to show you all aspects of publishing—prelaunch, revisions, cover design, layout, marketing, and printing. We will make you an equal partner in the publishing of your book, and your publishing team will give you the coaching and the tools to succeed at each stage of your publishing and launch journey. Our process is community-driven, which means that we integrate community engagement in every aspect of the publishing journey. We will help you design a system to activate your true fans, and grow your audience and platform.

Because we believe that stories have a global impact, we encourage and coach our authors are to develop a strategy that involves donating a portion of book profits or royalties to community organizations and local issues. Books can and should be a force for social good—both in the ideas they present and stories they tell and in the financial impact of profits and book sale royalties. Our authors through our programs have donated profits to food banks, community organizations, scholarship funds for schools, and more.
We bring a unique approach to the editorial process utilizing new strategies across neuroscience, big data, and machine learning to identify keys to a successful book for any authors and an award-winning editorial team in which each of our editorial departments has, on average, at least a decade of experience in publishing, writing, production and design, and marketing.
